An athlete, coach, and entrepreneur, Bo Porter has pulled from his experiences and conducted personal interviews to write his most recent book, “The End Game.” In his book, Bo explains why sports really exist and the lessons that can be learned from the playing field. During his interview he reveals a power philosophy that has driven his success, “It’s all about adding value to the people you are blessed to share space with.”
Marquis “Bo” Porter is living proof that if given a bridge of opportunity, real excellence can be achieved. As the Founder and President of Real Excellence Inc. Bo Porter embodies real excellence. He attended the University of Iowa, where he starred in baseball and football under legendary coach Hayden Fry, earning All-Big 10 honors in both sports and MVP honors on his football team during his senior year. While at University of Iowa, Porter earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communications Studies. Bo regularly participates in motivational speaking engagements and corporate leadership training seminars.
In July of 2012, Bo and Stacey established the Stacey and Bo Porter SELF Foundation (Sports, Education, Life Skills, Faith) in Houston, which provides and supports programs that are dedicated to improving and impacting the lives of underprivileged and underserved youth and communities through sports, education, life skills and faith. SELF partners with HISD to foster the afterschool programs for middle school age children.
